Junior Publicist

Dependent on experience

9.30am – 6pm Monday to Friday, evening and weekend events when necessary

24 days per annum, plus birthday off


We need a find, bright, friendly and conscientious individual with good contacts and previous experience of working in PR or related industries. You must be fluent with social media with an understanding of how it can best be applied in a PR context. You will also help us identify and feed through trends and ideas suitable for our clients. The role is challenging and requires the candidate to be highly organized, flexible, with excellent communication and administration skills.


  • Provide general support on designated client accounts; deal with client correspondence.
  • Be an effective point of contact for queries regarding clients. Handle general enquires from journalists/photographers.
  • Prepare and draft briefing material and presentations in advance of meetings. Research material on clients: check media alerts; write fact sheets/biographies.
  • Work proactively on publicity for clients as directed. Serve as back up to Senior Publicist when necessary.
  • Attend client meetings; monitor/setup conference calls. Assist with press events, launches and screenings and red carpet event when necessary.
  • Help to implement creative publicity strategies, managing relationships with press, production companies and commissioning teams.
  • Work and liaise with other individuals within the company to execute the best campaigns/service for clients.
  • Develop a network of strong working relationships in relevant areas of the media and with key contacts in the industry,
  • Assist with research and development of new business proposals when necessary. Participate in tactical and creative brainstorming meetings.

Candidates must be/have:

  • Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising or English.
  • Two + years’ experience in film/tv or personal PR
  • An excellent communicator; good fluent written and spoken English
  • Exceptional people skills
  • High level IT skills; comfortable with social media and it’s potential for the business
  • A self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • The ability to work flexibly and to multi-task effectively in a fast paced, ever changing environment.

Please note: The role will involve some antisocial hours, and so a degree of flexibility will be required. The person must be reliable, trustworthy, honest and eligible to work in the UK.
